A.N.C. CANBERRA:
Is for nurses from non English
speaking
countries to be assessed for registration as a nurse in Australia and for Nurses
seeking to come here as skilled migrants.
Nurses from recognised countries on Youth
Work Holiday Visas can go to the State Nurses Board in the State
that they want to work in.
MUTUAL RECOGNITION:
Each
State has its own Registration for Nurses. Once you register in one State then
it is just a matter of taking that Registration Certificate plus 100 point ID
(passport) to any of the other States Registration Boards and asking for
deemed registration which is given straight away.
TAX FILE NUMBERS:
A
Tax File Number is applied for on arrival from the Australian Taxation Office.
It is needed to work in Australia. If you do not have one then 51% TAX is taken
out of your wages instead of 29%. The Tax Year commences on the 1st of
July.
HEALTH INSURANCE:
If you come from the
UK, Eire or Canada or have worked in one of these countries then you can use the
Medicare system in Australia.
WORK VISA:
YOU
MUST HAVE A WORK VISA TO WORK IN AUSTRALIA.
